UNC-TV & PBS LearningMedia resources added to NCLOR for NCCCS
Today, the UNC-TV PBS LearningMedia series was updated with 1800+ new resources available in the NCLOR. This update joins the over 16,000 resources included in the series. These PBS Learning Media resources are made available to North Carolina Community College users through a partnership between UNC-TV and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The collection is closed and can only be made available to current NCCCS users in North Carolina.
NCCCS users will have access to media-rich resources especially designed for teachers and students including self-guided lessons, lesson plans, videos, interactives, science resources developed by UNC –TV, and popular PBS series such as NOVA, FRONTLINE, American Experience, and more.
The subjects included in this collection are: Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Business, Career and Technical Education, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Health Medical Sciences, Information Sciences, Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
This collection is only available to the NCCCS faculty. NC K-12 users have their own PBS collection available.
To access this collection you can:
- log into the NCLOR or through your institution’s learning management system
- navigate to the Browse by UNC-TV-PBS LearningMedia area
- Or click the search button, then select NCCCS PBS Collection from the “within” dropdown list.
UNC-TV & PBS LearningMedia resources added to NCLOR
Today, the first of two sets of UNC-TV PBS LearningMedia resources were made available in the NCLOR. Over 6,000 resources were included in the first set with another 12,000 resources soon to be made available. These PBS Learning Media resources are made available to North Carolina Community College users through a partnership between UNC-TV and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). The collection is closed and can only be made available to current NCCCS users in North Carolina.
NCCCS users will have access to over 18,000 media-rich resources especially designed for teachers and students including self-guided lessons, lesson plans, videos, interactives,hundreds of images from the Bridgeman Art Library, over 700 Spanish language videos, science resources developed by UNC –TV, and popular PBS series such as NOVA, FRONTLINE, American Experience, and more.
The subjects included in this collection are: Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Business, Career and Technical Education, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Health Medical Sciences, Information Sciences, Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.

V-Scope Explorer Resource Series updated in the NCLOR
The V-Scope Explorer resource series from Science Learning Resources has been updated in the NCLOR. The Multicellular Plants, Multicellular Animals, Single Cell Organisms applications have now been combined into one application titled ” Basic Biology”. The Basic Biology and the already available Anatomy/Physiology simulation both have new activity guides. A link to these guides has been included in on every slide in the set. V-Scope Explorer™ Microscope is a simulated experience of using a real microscope. These simulations add a new dimension to the lab experience and can supplement textbook and classroom sessions by learning through this virtual lab.
Note: This resource series is purchased content and only available to North Carolina Community College System faculty.

Intelecom Resource Series Added to the Repository
The INTELECOM Online Resources Network is a hosted and supported digital repository and subscription database of academic video clips – streamed on demand – for use in support of online, hybrid and face-to-face classes. The NCLOR staff has recently added 17 free videos representing a sample of the INTELECOM content collection. The subjects included in this series are: Adult Basic Education, Anatomy & Physiology, Biological Sciences, Business, Environmental Studies, Health, History, Mathematics, Nursing, Oceanography, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

Nation Science Foundation Resources Updated in NCLOR
The National Science Foundation collection is now updated in the NCLOR to include 206 new videos. The National Science Foundation, along with its partners at NBC Learn and CBS News, have created a digital collection of science, technology and engineering related videos. The video series included in this collection are: Chalk Talk, Changing Planet, Chemistry Now, Green Revolution, Innovation Nation, Profiles of Scientists and Engineers, Road to the New Energy Economy, Science Behind the New, Science Nation, Science in Motion, and The Science of the Summer Olympics.
These new video series join The Science of NFL Football, The Science of NHL Hockey, The Science of Speed (NASCAR), and The Science of the Olympic Winter Games series which were previously made available in the NCLOR.
The subjects included in this collection update are: Agricultural and Natural Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Health Medical Sciences, Information Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
